Download the 10.8mpg 'Beltaine 1' clip here At the beginning of May it was our Beltaine festival, this clip is a wee snippet of how we spent some of our time - May Day in particular. This year we invited round some of our French friends and we had a honey theme weaved through the day. I'll leave you all to track down the ancient cultural significance of honey and it's various uses! There was a honey tasting session - we were all given mini-pots and some bread sticks to see which one we liked best. We had a delicious honey themed meal in the evening too - Honey glazed pork and honey ice cream were favorites all round! Aside from our oral pleasures - of a kind! - we had the traditional May Pole dancing, the Fool and the Obby Oss were doing their stuff and we had a burning wickerman this year too. Bedecked with Greenery and offerings he was a wonderful sight. .....Happy Belated Beltaine all! |
