...can be disturbingly quiet during interviews and just damn disturbing on-stage.

...Her role within the band - apart from the obvious range and power of her lead vocals, can be likened to a Priestess of a warrior cult, leading her frenzied women into battle...which is exactly how she sees it.

This is the source of her blue persona - from a time when Celtic men and women fought alongside each other, usually naked so that the passion of the gods could freely pass into them, covered in the sacred blue staining plant - woad.

She is fierce in her personal passions - a lesbian who dislikes being called one - simply because of the dishonour that a single word or label pays to what she feels towards women.

The main melody writer and lyricist - she does not suffer fools of either sex gladly. Although she doesn't hate men, they do have to prove themselves before she will pay them note - hence her sudden outbursts or cold silences which have unnerved or panicked so many interviewers - especially when asked to give an interpretation or comment on her songs.

Within the commune one of her roles is as the business head - organising and co-ordinating all finances. After ensuring that food is on the table and bills are paid, she will create social and soul-food for the others in the community - by organising surprise outings or presenting tableaux representing the communes craft traditions.

Her clan is the Robertson's, whose motto is 'Fierce When Roused'...true in all aspects...everyone who meets her are either terrified or instantly in love - as her clear gaze that cuts down into all your dark secret places, forces you to examine your soul and face whatever might be lacking...but if you are so lucky as to have a song written about you by her - she can stop the breath in your throat with the beauty of it.

Tacitus writes of women seen ' running through the ranks in wild disorder, their apparel funereal; their hair loose to the wind, in their hands flaming torches, and their whole appearance resembling the frantic rage of the Furies'...it's a start.
